But after I got pregnant, another impact of the pandemic I guess lol (BLESSING IN DISGUISE OK), I don't cook as much anymore. Because during the first weeks of my pregnancy I feel nauseous and vomit so much, I was very sensitive to smell and tastes.

I did made a youtube video of my cooking though. Who knows when I'll cook as much again in the future.

Klik this link for the vid!

https://youtu.be/dkY0KLennUM

#didapuraja GEGARA CORONCES

laladanilelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05374797090913662352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21710009.post-45628920638333219662020-10-19T07:52:00.003+07:002020-10-19T07:54:50.991+07:00Zodiac
I don't really pay attention to zodiac.

It's not that I don't believe them, but I don't find them as fun as most people do. I guess.

I do follow amrazing, because I like his content obviously. But when he talks about zodiac I just skip them.

One thing I don't find appealing is how my zodiac, Libra, is always described as people who are so patient they can spend a looooooong time to choose between colors. The patient part is true, I am patient with my students and employees. So patient that from time to time they took advantage of me zzzz.

But when it comes to shopping, I am very decisive. I don't like to spend hours and hours on one item. I do it as quick as I can. And when I arrive home and realize I don't like that particular item that much, I'll just give them to someone else.

So that's that.

laladanilelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05374797090913662352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21710009.post-76371908173390023302020-05-06T11:30:00.000+07:002020-05-06T11:30:10.824+07:00Me and PyweKenalan sm pimes: 29 Januari 2011
Been there twice. When you go to Israel with tour package, jordan is almost always included in the tour, like old churches and biblical event that took place in that country. i went there the first time in 2001, may be? shoot, i don't remember anymore. it was when i was in middle school. the second time was in 2007.
unfortunately, i don't remember much about our time there. we where there for probably a day or so. we probably didn't even spent a night in the country.

now i have truly regret for not writing down everything about my travels. when we first went to israel, my father told me to write down my experience. i said yes, but i didn't do it. now, almost 20 years later, i regret it. anjo mi nakanna fathers know best.
She likes to sing and dance. She's assertive at home, but shy elsewhere. We're working on her confidence. She's a sweet little girl, who loves her sister.

Second one is Disa.
She smiles first thing in the morning, likes fruits and vegs and kerupuk and basically anything you put in her mouth except for her actual meal. Meaning, she likes snacks but it takes effort to feed her proper meals. But her smile is the sweetest and she always want to be with her sister.
So these days, I drive and walk to the school I was attending for four years. Makes me feel so happy, happier than I thought I would be. :)

Anyway.

Nostalgia ah.
Saya masuk kelas 3 SMA tahun 2005. We called ourselves genk mati lampu karna zaman itu makassar seriiiing sekali mati lampu. Kalo sudah mati lampu mi, sibuk saling sms minta dijemput karna panas di rumah mau cari ac ato jalan2 ahahahahaha. Lanjut. Maka kaka Bogi, the most burenk of us all, memberikan kiat untuk persiapan SPMB:
1. Kerja 30 soal SETIAP HARI
2. Pulang bimbel, tidur. Bangun subuh untuk belajar
Jam 4 bimbel di Ganesha Operation (GO). Di GO banyak sekelas sama anak2 jubel. Ikut try out. Bikin strategi sama Bogi. Karna saya nda tertarik kuliah kedokteran dan semacamnya, ga usah ambil IPC (ilmu pengetahuan campuran). Dulu kan formulir ada 3 jenis: IPA, IPS, IPC. Pulang bimbel makan, tidur.

Dia telpon, kasi kabar "namamu urutan nomer satu, Ella!"). Kiki masuk di akuntansi. Fari masuk di Komunikasi. Happy days, happy people. Waktu tes SPMB, saya cuma pilih 1 jurusan: Manajemen UI. Tidak ambil IPC, lgs IPS saja. Tiap try out, cuma kerja bagian sejarah sedikit. Cuma jawab yang saya tau. Soalnya dulu itu, ga tau ya kalo skarang, sistem skoringnya: betul +4, salah -1, tidak jawab 0. Jadi mending jangan jawab klo nda tau samsek. Datanglah hari tes. Lokasi tes saya di FH UI. Kampusnya keren, rindang.

Hasilnya?
Lulus! Manajemen UI! I was so happy and so surprised at the same time.

And that's what I did. Kuliah di Unhas. My father didn't want his daughter to study far away yet. My sister also studied in Makassar, afterwards she went to Netherland for masters degree. But my mom was devastated. My family was devastated. So was I, especially after seeing the huge difference between the facilities in UI and Unhas. But my father's was unmoved. However, in the end I got my redemption in PSM Unhas. And afterwards my father fulfil his promise, he gave me Honda Jazz and MBS. So all is well.

My father said, "Mutiara itu biar ditaro di kandang babi tetap akan bersinar". Bersinar sih bersinar, tapi bau kandang babi ahahahahaha. The irony is, 2006 I was devastated because I was forced to study in Unhas. But here I am, 13 years later, feeling over the moon because I finally got accepted as a lecturer in Unhas. God's plan is a mystery, indeed.

And that is the SPMB episode of my life.

Anyone who has been through the process of wedding preparation would know how hectic and crazy weddings really are. I, like many other brides, became a bridezilla. It was pretty intense. But in the end, the celebration was lovely, we had fun, (most of the) pictures were amazing.

One guest actually said that it was the biggest and most elaborated wedding he has ever attended lol. No, our wedding was big alright, but it was far from being the biggest ever. That guest was Japanese, a friend of my bestfriend. May be in Japan, people rarely invite thousands of people? Well in makassar many many many many people do.

The first thing we did was to book the venue. We did that right after Pimes and his parents came to meet me and my parents to formally propose. Afterward was the extended family proposal and introduction. As per tradition, the groom-to-be and his extended family visit the house of the bride-to-be for ceremonious proposal and get introduced to her extended family.

And like many other Torajanese, we appointed two family member from each side as head and vice of the wedding commite. We do know that most wedding committes are formality, but my father has tried to be efficient in the past and didn’t appoint direct family member as head committe. Boy did that cause some major problem. So this time around, we went along with tradition and appoint said committee. Anyway.

Since the beginning, Pimes and I has agreed that "INI PESTANYA MAMA PAPA, KITA CUMA NUMPANG DIKASI KAWIN SAJA". Kasarnya sih. Meaning that altough it’s our wedding, it is also our parents’ party. It wasn’t merely celebrate the couple’s love for each other, but also the celebration of parents’ achiement for raising their kids well. Not to mention the union of two families. That’s why we decided to be reasonable and not insist too strongly to the many decisions that were made. Afterall, our parents were the ones who paid for the entire wedding. Except for the prewedding photos actually, which we paid by ourselves therefore it was 100% my taste and decision. But yeah. Since we both came from big families, and have seen all the drama that happened in our siblings and cousins, we decided to try and avoid arguments with our parents by giving all the final decision to them. Of course we presented our ideas and of course we were the one who’s running around town to book the vendors and everything. But we always got back to our parents so they always had the final say. Even with that in mind, I still got into some tearful arguments with my mother. But that’s wedding preparation, mind you. It costs a lot, involves a lot of people hence many miscommunications and misunderstandings could occured.

Case in point. Like any other bride to be, I have a vision of my own what my wedding gown would be. It would be big, it would be off-white, and so on and so fort. Imagine my frustration when my mom came from Surabaya that she has already made the down payment for my kebaya-wedding gown and all the details are planned and confirmed with the designer. Without asking my opinion first. I was really going to stress about it, then Pimes reminded me about our motto. So that calmed me down. That and the fact that my kebaya-wedding dress was indeed very beautiful and much more expensive than I thought it would be lols. As for the Toraja wedding attire, I didn't even have any thoughts on did. I knew what my sister and sister in law went through in that matter, so I kept my mouth shut. Then again, my mother got us very exquisite songkets directly from Padang and that made into extremely pretty red Toraja wedding attire.

Thankfully my mom agreed to my choice of make up artist and hairdresser, as well as the wedding invitation design. My high school friend did it, and of course it was super pretty. What else. My brother and sister sang "Love is All There Is" at the Holy Matrimony, as well as Monika, Kak Irfy, and a beautiful surprise duet from Yeyen and Erwin. As for the reception, our parents invites thousands of family and friends. My mom got anxious and order more food two days before the wedding, so food was overflown. She said, "better have leftovers than not have enough and be talked about for years. we can packed and share any leftovers." I asked my friends to put their best attire on, if they can, because I think that would elevate the whole event. And it did. One of my friends actually wrote on Path, "Kak Ella's Grammy-wedding". I assumed she wrote Grammy because all the faboulousness? hopefully lols. I invited about twenty or so foreign friends of my best friend, so they could experience a Torajanesse wedding party.

That's pretty much what I can remember about my wedding.
One of them is Australia.

Went there two times. Once when I was one year old and my grandfather was an education attaché for Indonesian Embassy. I have zero recollection of my time there, but my mother, aunties, and uncles have lots. Stories to follow. The second time I went there when I was in third grade, age 8.
My father took three (?) months course in a hospital in Sydney and/or Canberra. Aunt Telly still worked in Canberra there, so we stayed at her place. My memory of this vacation was blurry, obviously. We visited Sydney Opera House, shopping centres, zoo, and aquarium. Mother purchased a christmas tree then, the one we still use to this day. It's still in the living room at this very moment, which reminds me that I need to take it down soon. It's already February! What else I remember from this visit. Food, I remember eating kangaroo meat (or so my father told me). Also ate a lot of nasi goreng with peas in them.

Human brain is fascinating, isn't it? So random what I can recall.

Continue.

As for my first visit to Australia. I was one year old then, so I remember absolutely nothing. It was my first time to fly abroad, duh. My mom told me I pooped while in church in Brisbane and she threw my diaper in the church's potted plant lols. She also told a story of how someone on the train commented about me, "What beautiful eyes!". My mother's siblings gave me spicy food that so spicy it made me cry and scratch my tongue while they roared in laughter and enraged my mom. And I think my uncle once told me he "hang" me on the laundry hang wire.

And that's what I can remember about Australia. Toodles!

laladanilelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05374797090913662352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21710009.post-1483027275235289122019-02-01T21:07:00.001+07:002019-03-12T07:25:32.771+07:00Series: Random Recollection of The Past, So I'd Remember When I'm Older (RRTPSIRWIO)Now that I'm 30 and have recently bore my second child, I came to a epiphany that, if God's willing, in time I'd grow even older. If He'd allow, I'd go through more stages in life, gain more experiences. And looking back, He has allowed me to experience countless events - some of which are life changing, encounter people of many background and characters, visit numerous places, and so on. And if I don't write it down, I might forget all of them in the future.

I keep a habit of writing diaries since I was a kid. Sadly, I've lost my elementary school diary. Can you even imagine what kind of silliness I wrote as a kid?? I still have my junior high until university diary, and they are ALL cringe-worthy. But still, I enjoy reminiscing when reading them. Those diaries entries makes me grateful for the lessons I learnt, they makes me regret for the friends I've lost contact with, and sometimes they make me crazy. The last part is because I liked to write song lyrics but some songs are so old and random I forget the title or the singer, but the tone somewhat haunts me so I have to spent hours trying to find the song. Youtube don't have all of them.

Anyway.

Also, my 2019 resolution is to share less on social media. Man, I am an over share, it's a disgrace. But nobody reads this blog, so this is a safe space. I think. That's why I need to channel my need of expressing my thoughts away from igstories and more on blogging.

So that's that.

In order to allow 70 year old Ella to read some old memories and to try cut back on writing too much on igs, I'm making this series: Random Recollection of The Past, So I'd Remember When I'm Older (RRTPSIRWIO).

You might think the series name is to long and the abbreviation is ridiculous. But I like nonsense abbreviation. And I think a very long title is funny. Like my favorite book of 2018 is titled "The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed a Window and Dissapear".

Since I'm a bu dosen, I like to categorise things.
RRTPSIRWIO posts have the following categories:
- PLACES.
I'm fortunate enough to have visited many countries and cities. Sadly, I didn't write about most of them. Sure there are photos, but that's not enough for me to reminisce.
- PEOPLE
In a old manga that I liked, Kodocha Child's Play, when her daughter asked about homeless people, the mother said this:
"KEHIDUPAN ITU BERANEKA WARNA".
Bam! Epiphany! It's a very simple, yet quite true description of the myriads of circumstances shapes the situations and personalities of human being. 15yo me was blown over by that scene. And as I grow older, that quote holds true. Man, my writing is so crappy! I am not satisfied with how I write this post. But it's ok, that's why I need to practice more.
- EPISODES
As a 30 yo, I have experience many things. I want to write some that I can recall.

That's the plan! Hope I will carry through.
When I was a little girl, still growing
I especially remember those restless nights
When I was a flimsy teenager with questions unanswered

I remember the boastful prideful nights
When arrogance took over and I think too highly of myself
I remember the tearful nights
When I realize that I was wrong
That I am just a speck of worthless dust in this universe called the real world
I remember the remorseful nights
I remember the anxious nights
When I just feel so lost
I sometimes still have one of those nights

But today

That I am 30

My heart is full with gratefulness

Tonight is a joyous one

Because when I count all the blessing You have given me
When I look around

Everything I am
Everything I have
Comes from You, my Lord and saviour

I wish I could tell my younger self

That everything’s gonna be fine

That You took care of me
That You never forsake me

That You really made my life complete
And for a moment there I want to go to school again as soon as possible. That feeling only lasted for a fey seconds though, because I realize PhD is far more difficult, I imagine.

But yeah, I will get another degree, I have to. Because I'm building a career in academics. Dosens these days have to have doctoral degree. But I'm not gonna do it in near future because:

1. My husband plans to continue his studies next year, someone has got to stay as breadwinner.

2. My husband should do his studies before me because he is older and so I can use him as an excuse to delay my doctoral plan.

3. I think it would be more convenient to continue my study when the kids are bigger. Big enough to make their own Indomie, maybe? At least big enough to shower and poop without needing help... My eldest is now 3 years old and the younger one is still in my tummy! Pretty legit excuse to delay PhD, don't you think?

But yeah, I do miss my Manchester days...

Shame. Shame. Shame. (ringing bell behind).

Anyhoo, let's bask up in memories again. This time I want to count back on how many concerts I have been to. I'm not much of a concert goers, hence the oh so many concerts missed during my study in UK. I wasn't interested in Coldplay concerts, how foolish was I. They were all over the country. All year round. Jamie Cullum didn't held any, Adele was pregnant or something when I was there, so she didn't held any either. However, I did have gone to several others during my lifetime. It's nothing impressive, really.

Let's try to remember and enlist them:
1. Christmas Concert - JPCC. Just last Monday!
2. Sheila on 7 concert. My first ever concert, back in junior high school.
3. Jamie Cullum. BEST one yet.
4. Boyz II Men. Got a free ticket from a friend, this was the only one concert I attend in UK lols. (cry in despair). Whyyyy did I thought too much and missed Lady Gaga. whyyyyy.
5. Tompi.
6. Santana. Java Jazz. Super awesome.
7. Diversity.
8. Trio Lestari. BEST as well!
9. Maliq and D'Essentials.
10. Sheila on 7. Different occasion, can't remember when, though.
11. SNSD! My God I believe this was the MOST CROWDED concert I have been to. People pushing each other, there were literally sea of humas. I moved like 10m from the first spot I stood on, because of all the pusing. It was insane.

Man, those are the only onse I can recall for now. Oh well. Told ya, I'm not much of a concert goers.laladanilelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05374797090913662352noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21710009.post-52518195611913084922016-06-27T11:36:00.002+07:002016-06-27T11:55:12.461+07:00The Winds of Winter - GoT tv show, season finaleI can not contained my excitement. Literally can't.

I've tweeted about the last episode. So many things happened.

The greatest fantasy story I have ever enjoyed. So good. So so so good.

That last few episodes covered way more than the last 2 books (I think).

Ok I'll try and start reviewing my thoughts on that last episode.

Maergery and House Tyrell along with the High Sparrow and everyone in the Red Keep at THAT moment when Cersei proves herself as the mad, ruthless lion. I like Maergery, but I've always known she is a supporting character. Not a major one. Why? Because she wasn't there at the beginning. She switches sides and play her part well. In the end she is but a spawn in the story, a tool to prove the frightening madness that Cersei Lannister truly is. I know House Tyrell wouldn't play that big a part in the Song of Ice and Fire. After all, House Tyrell came to power because their lord, House Flower went to the Targaryen's aid during Robert's Rebellion. And so the end came for Maergery, Mace, and the High Sparrow.

Cersei Lannister is finally THE Queen of Westeros. She paid a huge price, of course. Tommen jumped of the castle after witnessing his mother's cruelty. Hey! That's rather poetic, Cersei! You push Bran of the window, five seasons later your last son jump himself of off a window! But Cersei was probably ready. The witch in the woods has told her long ago that she will loose all her children and she would become The Queen.

Congratulations GRRM, DB, and DW. That was beautifully plotted.

Moving on to my favorite characters: Daenerys and Tyrion. It is true that their scene in the last episode was not as dramatic as the others. But that look in Tyrion's eyes when Daenerys named him The Hand of the Queen. The emotions that he diplays as he declares his believe in her and as she showed him grace. It was subtle, it was calm, and there I was soaking this television greatness. Tyrion has come a long way and so has Daenerys. Now both sails to Westeros (yeah! Daenerys is going to the Iron Throne! Finally!!) along with the Greyjoys, and the Martells and Tyrells waiting to join them.

To think that next year (or the year after), Tyrion shall face Cersei. Two siblings that hated each other. For right reasons. One as the Hand of the Queen and one as A Queen. Extraordinary, isn't it?

And finally, up in the North. Lady Mormont did not fail to impress us as she rally the other Lords to once again declare Ned's Stark son as the King in the North. Sansa smiled, but that smiled died when she saw Littlefinger. I hate Littlefinger. Who knows what other sick plot he is schemming. He has declared his desired to rule in the Iron Throne. Sansa has refused him, but only time will tell what he will do next. Lady Mormont is truly admirable, one must say. I would approve if she were to betrothed to Jon Snow, it is befitting. Unfortunately Jon Snow is not Ned's son, oh he is not. Bran continued his seeing and we all witness how the show confirmed that afterall, Jon really is Lyanna's son. Yes. R+L=J is confirmed. Aw, Man. We suspected all along, didn't we? That means Sansa is the Queen of the North! But wait! Bran's alive and is at The Wall!! Will he join his siblings?

And we move on to the last Stark kids: Arya. Arya served Lord Walder Frey a pie of his own sons (Frey Pies!!) and then slit his throat. All those pages and scenes I've spent frustratingly see Arya's slow development finally came to a great climax: her revenge on the Freys. It is so satisfying.

You know what? I think it should be Arya that kills Cersei. Nope. I change my mind. Sansa should kill Cersei. Sansa should face Cersei, both as Queens. Powerful, powerful stuff.
I'm crossing my fingers, hoping next year Jon, Sansa, Arya, and Bran will finally reunited. After all these years they all think that the others are dead and they are on their own. Except that they're not. They are the powerful, noble, dignified House Stark. Stark banner has risen!!

Conclusion. Powerful episode. The Winds of Winter is the epitome of Game of Thrones.
The last episode included the most dramatic reveals: Cersei ascending the Iron Throne, Jon Snow is indeed son of Lyanna Stark, Daenerys named Tyrion as The Hand of the Queen, and Arya kills Walder Frey.

I can not stop smiling.

Congratulations GRRM, DB, and DW.
I have been blessed to have parents whom instead of buying me expensive toys, they chose to saved up for me and my siblings so we can go out and expand our horizon abroad. I never had lots of branded toys and clothes during childhood. My parents prefer to use the money to go see other countries instead. In order to become more open minded. Be inspired. I'm so grateful for them. Kita diajar untuk tidak berfoya-foya dalam kemewahan. Tp diajar memperluas wawasan dgn melihat kemajuan negeri orang lain utk mnjadi inspirasi, walopun ke negeri orang itu dengan budget pas2an ala backpacker. Dulu waktu masih kecil baju boleh murah meriah mainan warisan semua tapi paspor banyak stempelnya ;)

Setelah kerja baru sekali bs keluar negeri, soalnya se nikah langsung hamil and my husband is still in school so we dont have time to go for holiday. But the good news is we have our most precious baby Daenerys. We also get to save up!! So when the circumstances are right, definitely want to travel again. At least Singapur dan Malaysia lah, mosok negara tetangga aja belummm... Really wish to go to Japan... China and russia as well. Someday. Amin.
